Former Super Eagles star Tijani Babangida says Nigeria can make up for the pain of missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup by winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Babangida admitted that failing to qualify for the World Cup for the second time in a row was very painful for Nigerians. However, he believes the upcoming AFCON gives the team a chance to restore pride to Nigerian football.
According to him, lifting the AFCON trophy will help erase the disappointment and rebuild confidence in the Super Eagles.
Nigeria will be chasing a fourth AFCON title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco next weekend. The team finished second at the last edition of the competition.
