Presidency Says Niger Delta Now APC After Fubara Dumps PDP

The Presidency has reacted to the defection of Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Bola Tinubu’s Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, said the move shows that the entire South-South region is now under the APC.

Governor Fubara said he left the PDP because the party failed to protect him during a serious political crisis in Rivers State. He explained that the situation threatened his position and political future.

Fubara added that he sought help from the federal government and found the support and protection he needed in the APC.

Reacting on social media, Bwala welcomed Fubara to the ruling party, describing him as a friend and brother, and said the governor’s decision marks a major political shift in the Niger Delta.
