Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, has come under public scrutiny following the circulation of a new video online.
The footage captures Remi Tinubu interacting with prominent figures, including former First Lady Patience Jonathan, during a recent public event.
This incident follows an earlier controversy in which Remi Tinubu drew criticism for stopping Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke from performing at the 10th coronation anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (CFR).
The event, held at Oduduwa Hall in Ile-Ife, Osun State, also marked Remi Tinubu’s investiture as the Yeye Asiwaju of Ile Oodua. In a video shared by Warri Sentinel on X (formerly Twitter), the First Lady is seen greeting key guests seated at the high table.
However, when she reached Patience Jonathan, she reportedly switched to pidgin English and indicated that she would not respond to her greeting. Patience Jonathan acknowledged the interaction with a polite reply, after which the tension appeared to ease.
Remi Tinubu could be heard saying, “Mama P, I thank you oh. You no smile? Mama P, I am greeting you, eh? Thank you very much for being there.”
