A new chapter in the generational timeline began in 2025 with the arrival of Generation Beta.
Following Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha, this cohort will grow up in a world transformed by artificial intelligence, automation, and climate instability.
The name, like Generation Alpha before it, comes from the Greek alphabet—a naming convention introduced by Australian demographer Mark McCrindle. Spanning births from 2025 to around 2039, Gen Beta is expected to be the largest generation in history, with over 2 billion members alive by 2030.
These children will likely be the first raised entirely in an AI-assisted world and may grow up without common touchstones of earlier generations—like physical cash, handwritten homework, or even driving their own cars. While generational labels can’t predict individual behavior, they help contextualize how global trends, technology, and shifting values shape identity over time. Generation Beta will carry forward the legacies and challenges left by their predecessors—and begin to forge a future of their own.
