Damilola Adeolu ,a 13-year old talented student from St. Lawrence Metropolitan College, Ado Ekiti has made Ekiti State proud at the Nigeria Spelling Bee 2025.
Damilola, who hails from Ado Ekiti secured the position of Second Runner-up , a feat that earned her the honour of representing Nigeria at the African Spelling Bee taking place in Zimbabwe in March 2026.
Damilola’s performance at the national level was marked by confidence, brilliance, and composure qualities that have strengthened her belief that she will return home from Zimbabwe with the Champion’s Trophy.
As preparations intensify, her school and community continues to celebrate her success and rally behind her for the continental challenge ahead.
The attention of the Ekiti State Government and well to do individuals has however been drawn to kindly support this young ambassador as she is currently on course to bring home the coveted trophy .
Her journey to Zimbabwe presents a unique opportunity for Ekiti State to shine on the international stage as Government sponsorship will not only ease the financial demands of travel and participation but also serve as a powerful motivation for other young scholars across the state.
Damilola’s story remains a beacon of hope and a testament to what dedication, discipline, and the right support can achieve.
