The Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adejimi Adu , has thrown his weight behind the World Iyan Carnival, a cultural extravaganza aimed at promoting Ekiti culture and tourism.
The Monarch, who is the Chairman Traditional Council of Obas in Ekiti State made the endorsement during a courtesy visit to his palace by the organizers of the world Iyan carnival holding on the 27th of December, 2025 to in Ikere Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The Ogoga expressed his delight at the initiative, saying it would showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ekiti State and boost tourism.
On the proposed Aafin iyan resorts in Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu noted that it would further showcase the town to global community and as well promote the cultural heritage of the community.
He therefore called on residents of the State to troop out in their large number and grace the world Iyan carnival holding at Fajuyi park Ado Ekiti.
The World Iyan Carnival is a brainchild of a group of young entrepreneurs who aim to promote Ekiti culture and provide a platform for cultural exchange.
Speaking during the visit, the convener of the programme, Prince Ade Ajayi and its Local Organising Chairman, Dr Sikiru Olowoyo said this year’s world Iyan carnival would features music, dance, fashion, and art, and is expected to attract visitors from across the globe.
They therefore appreciated Ogoga’s endorsement, saying it Would further boost the credibility of world iyan carnival in Ekiti State.
