The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Professor Temi E. Ologunorisa, has been elected President of the Nigerian Academy of Social Sciences.
Professor Ologunorisa emerged unanimously during the Academy’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, 28th November, 2025, in Abuja, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished academic career.
Reacting to the development, the Elemure of Emure-Ile Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Bankole Adeyefa II, congratulated the renowned scholar, describing his emergence as “a testament to excellence, merit, and long-standing contributions to social science research in Nigeria.”
Oba Adeyefa II praised Professor Ologunorisa’s unwavering commitment to academic growth, institutional development, and national advancement, noting that his new leadership position would further project Ondo State and OAUSTECH onto the national and global stage.
The monarch expressed confidence that the new President would bring visionary leadership, intellectual depth, and administrative experience to the Nigerian Academy of Social Sciences, while inspiring the younger generation of scholars.
He prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and success for Professor Ologunorisa in this new responsibility.
