Dangote Refinery Supplied 34% of Nigeria’s Petrol Needs in October ~ NMDPRA

New data from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) shows that the Dangote Refinery supplied only 34.15% of Nigeria’s petrol demand in October 2025.

According to the report released over the weekend, Nigeria used about 56.7 million litres of petrol daily in October.
Out of this, Dangote Refinery produced 17.1 million litres, while 27.6 million litres were imported.

The data also showed that petrol consumption rose sharply in October about 31.86% higher than the 43 million litres used daily in September.

Between October 2024 and October 2025, Nigeria consumed an average of 661.5 million litres of petrol monthly, while Dangote Refinery supplied an average of 18.03 million litres per day over the same period.

For other petroleum products in October 2025, Nigerians used:

17.13 million litres of diesel daily

2.61 million litres of aviation fuel daily

NMDPRA said the verified figures show progress in Nigeria’s energy sector, including reduced imports, better local production, improved safety standards, more jobs, and stronger economic stability.

Meanwhile, Dangote Refinery announced through its spokesperson, Anthony Chiejina, that it supplied 45 million litres of petrol to the Nigerian market in November.
