Brilliant Detroit Teen Wins $3M in Scholarships, Chooses Stanford for Neuroscience

Meet Milton Jennings, a remarkable African-American student from Detroit who has earned over $3 million in scholarships and admissions to 11 top U.S. universities — including Columbia, University of Richmond, and Wayne State’s elite Med Direct program.

With a 4.3 GPA, a passion for neuroscience, and years of participating in science and medical symposiums where he was often the only Black male present, Milton turned challenges into motivation. Today, he’s committed to inspiring more young Black men to enter STEM fields.

His acceptance into Stanford University came with pure joy — his mom and sister were already wearing Stanford shirts before he even opened the letter!

Milton will major in psychology with a neuroscience focus, aiming to become a neurosurgeon dedicated to reducing health disparities and increasing minority representation in medicine.

Outside academics, he also explores modeling, showing he’s a talent of many dimensions.

He says: “My success wouldn’t have been possible without my mother.”
