Sports commentator Veli Yigit has advised Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk to give Victor Osimhen some rest ahead of Saturday’s Istanbul derby against Basaksehir.
Yigit said the Nigerian striker looked tired after playing two tough World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Benin Republic, where he scored a hat-trick in Nigeria’s 4–0 win in Uyo.
“Osimhen has gone through a busy period and needs rest. I don’t think he should start against Basaksehir,” Yigit told Habersarikirmizi.
He added that Osimhen is happy and focused at Galatasaray, no longer thinking about transfers or contracts.
“His mind is clear, and I expect an even stronger performance from him,” Yigit said.
