Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has said that poverty cannot be destroyed by prayers alone.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Agu explained that while prayer brings divine wisdom and favour, only hard work and consistency can bring true prosperity.
He advised Nigerians to stop waiting for “manna from heaven” and instead work hard to achieve success.
“Poverty cannot die by fire. You can pray from morning till night, but if you don’t work, poverty will still deal with you,” he said.
Agu added that God blesses effort, not laziness, reminding people that blessings only come through action.
