Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has warned politicians planning to rig the 2027 governorship election in the state to “write their wills” before trying it.
Speaking during his monthly media chat, “Alex Otti Speaks to Abians,” at the Government House, Umuahia, the Governor said only the will of God and the votes of the people will decide who becomes the next governor of Abia.
Otti made the statement while reacting to a comment credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who claimed that the APC would take over Abia in 2027.
Governor Otti said he is not afraid of any threat and advised Kalu and his supporters to play by the rules.
“I’ve heard that some people are boasting that they will write results. My advice is simple if they truly want to write, they should start with their wills,” he said.
Otti described Kalu as a friend and younger brother, adding that he has forgiven him for his comments against his government. He also reaffirmed that he remains a proud member of the Labour Party (LP) and has no plans to join the APC.
