The Benue State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of six students from the Nigerian Law School's Yola Campus who were abducted last week.
In a statement released in Makurdi on Friday, police spokesperson DSP Edet Udeme shared the development.
Udeme reported that the victims, who were abducted on July 26 while traveling along the Joota–Wukari Federal Highway, gained their freedom in the early hours of Friday.
They were released and reunited with their families this morning, August 1st.
"They were kidnapped on the Joota/Wukari Federal Highway and later found safe on High Tension Road in Wukari, Taraba," she mentioned.
According to the police, the students were initially brought to the Ukum Divisional Police Headquarters for formal processing before being returned to their families.
