The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has suspended 87 government functionaries for failing to attend an important state function.
Those affected include 25 Commissioners, 14 Senior Special Assistants, 24 Special Assistants, and 22 Permanent Secretaries.
The Governor directed that all affected officials will proceed on a one-month working suspension without salary, effective immediately. During the period, they are not to sign any official document, while Commissioners are to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries.
The directive was announced on Monday, July 28, 2025, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Monday Uzor.
