NDLEA Seizes Drugs Hidden in Vehicle Side Mirrors in Latest Crackdown

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted illicit drugs concealed inside vehicle side mirrors, marking another inventive tactic uncovered in its ongoing battle against drug trafficking. NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, announced the seizure in a post on his X handle on Sunday.

“They’ve found another use for our vehicle side mirrors as discovered by #ndlea_nigeria officers in one of our latest seizures. Let’s be more careful,” Babafemi wrote, highlighting the agency’s vigilance.

This seizure adds to a string of unconventional concealment methods recently uncovered by the NDLEA, including drugs hidden in lipstick tubes, prayer beads, clothes hangers, and dress seams. The agency has ramped up surveillance and profiling at Nigeria’s entry and exit points, vowing to stay ahead of traffickers’ tactics. “We remain steps ahead of their desperate measures,” the NDLEA stated, reinforcing its commitment to curbing drug smuggling nationwide.
