In a deeply personal revelation, Justin Timberlake has shared that he’s been living with Lyme disease, a chronic condition that has quietly impacted his health throughout his recent two-year “Forget Tomorrow” World Tour.
Known for being intensely private, the 43-year-old singer-songwriter and actor took to Instagram to open up about the struggles he’s faced behind the scenes.
🗣️ “When I first got the diagnosis, I was shocked for sure… But at least I could understand why I’d be onstage feeling nerve pain, crazy fatigue, or sickness.”
Despite the physical and emotional toll, JT says he chose to keep going:
“The joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.”
He also extended heartfelt empathy to others battling the condition:
“If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has — then you’re aware: it can be relentlessly debilitating.”
Lyme disease, a tick-borne illness, can affect the joints, nervous system, and heart if left untreated.
