Emeritus Chairman, NAUS CMC ONDO
During my tenure as Chairman of the National Association of University Students (NAUS) CMC ONDO, we made history, not for the titles we held, but for the work we did together.
The following are some of the highlights:
1. First-Ever NAUS CMC ONDO Week: Organized the First-Ever NAUS CMC ONDO Week, a landmark event that set a new precedent in the history of the association. This historic week brought together students across campuses in Ondo State for a series of impactful activities featuring: Anti-vice campaigns (against cultism, drug abuse, corruption, etc.), medical outreach & health talk, leadership summit & talent show, football match with NANS JCC ONDO, and awards ceremony and after-party.
2. Produced the NAUS National Senate President at the last NAUS National Convention: Distinguished Senator Oguntade Israel Omodolamu, a student of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa.
3. Conducted the first-ever inaugural ceremony for NAUS CMC ONDO executives, held at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED).
4. Established the NAUS CMC Ondo
Stakeholders Forum the first of its kind, fostering structure and inclusive decision-making.
5. Hosted the first official joint meeting between the Stakeholders Forum, Senators, and Executives promoting transparency and collaboration.
6. Monitored and supported Student Union elections across all universities in Ondo State to ensure fairness, peace, and student engagement.
7. Conducted the most peaceful and participatory election in NAUS CMC ONDO’s history during the 2025 convention.
STUDENT ADVOCACY & ENGAGEMENT
8. Facilitated Voter Registration Drives across campuses to increase political participation among students.
9. Launched Major Campaigns on campuses:
• NO to cultism, drug abuse, sexual harassment, examination malpractice, violence, and corruption.
10. Proactively Defended Students’ Interests:
• Tackled power supply issues with NEPA/BEDC
• Addressed law enforcement-related student issues.
• Engaged school management on student welfare concerns
11. Strengthened Student Participation by ensuring visible and active involvement of university students in state and national programs.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATIONS
12. Engaged in High-Level Advocacy Visits:
• Commissioner of Police
• Nigeria Immigration Service
• Amotekun Corps
• INEC
• Office of the SSA on Student Affairs, Hon. Kelvin Olaolu Solomon
• Vice Chancellors and management of all 5 state universities.
13. Collaborated with Government Agencies & Private Organizations to project the association positively and secure lasting partnerships.
14. Represented Ondo State with Distinction at the 10th NAUS Senate Sitting at the University of Abuja.
15. Built Strong Alliances with Sister Associations; NAOSS, NANS, NFSAN, and others.
IMPACTFUL PROGRAMS BY EXECUTIVE OFFICES
16. Mental Health Awareness Campaign Led by the Director of Gender & Campus Affairs.
17. Ramadan Lecture; Organized by the Director of Transportation & Special Duties.
18. “Let’s Talk” Series; Led by the Office of the Secretary-General; open dialogue platforms on pressing student issues.
19. “Fire: The Good and Bad Friend to Humanity” Seminar – Featuring keynote speaker ASFI Ajulo Ayodele from the Federal Fire Service, Feb 8, 2025.
COMMUNITY & ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT*
20. “Clean Our Campus” Initiative* – Promoting environmental hygiene and responsibility across campuses.
21. Education Summit – Hosted at AFUED by the Board of Directors.
AWARDS & RECOGNITION
22. Recognition, Merit & Excellence Awards presented to individuals and organizations who contributed significantly to the growth of NAUS CMC ONDO.
These are just some of the milestones we achieved together, there were many more moments of impact, service, and growth that may not all be captured here.
Leadership is never a solo journey. I am deeply grateful to my fellow executives, stakeholders, school managements, government officials, and most importantly, the students, for believing in the vision and walking this path with me.
We raised the bar. We raised the flag.
And above all, we made it count.
