Wike Vs Amaechi: I’ll Face You in Rivers — Wike Dares Amaechi Over Call for Revolt

On Friday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced his readiness to confront Rotimi Amaechi, a prominent member of the opposition coalition in Rivers State.

Wike cautioned that he would confront Amaechi and his children in Rivers State if they proceed to lead the uprising he is advocating.

During an appearance on Channels Television's *Politics Today* Thursday night, Amaechi urged Nigerians to rise up against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In response to the development, Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, reminisced about his electoral victories over Amaechi in previous elections there and emphasized that he could achieve similar results again.

During the commissioning of the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace-Radio Nigeria-New Market Road in Gwagwalada area council of the FCT, Wike delivered a speech.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, acting on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, commissioned the project.

In response to Amaechi's remarks, Wike stated: "Although I wasn't a governor at the time, in 2015 I successfully challenged and defeated an influential governor who was attempting to install his preferred successor."

In 2019, a prominent minister was responsible for borrowing money from Chinese banks and various other sources, which led to us becoming heavily indebted. He had also served as the Director General of the President's campaign but failed to secure even 20 percent support for Mr. President at that time—I defeated him in that endeavor.

Some suggest that Nigerians should take action. To the person advocating this, I invite you to lead the effort.

To those encouraging Nigerians to revolt, I'm ready for you in Rivers State. Begin there and lead the way with your own children.

Moreover, it's not as though your children are in London while you remain here advocating for them to rise up and revolt.

"If you bring your children, we will confront the situation together; this way, we'll know you're sincere in what you're saying."
