Gov't to convert National Cathedral project into Cultural Centre

The government has revealed plans to repurpose the long-stalled National Cathedral project into a National Cultural Convention Centre (NCCC), transforming the site into a powerhouse for Ghana’s creative economy and international cultural engagement.

This major rebranding forms part of the “SH0W24” policy initiative—an ambitious arm of the 24-hour economy agenda focused on culture, creative arts, and tourism.

According to the policy framework, the new NCCC is envisioned as a dynamic, round-the-clock venue that will serve not only Ghana but the entire African continent.

The NCCC is expected to be developed in collaboration with the AfCFTA Secretariat, with the goal of positioning it as Africa’s premier destination for global exhibitions, film festivals, trade shows, and cultural summits.
