In a major crackdown on criminal activities, the Delta State Police Command has arrested two notorious native doctors, three suspected kidnappers, and 184 internet fraudsters during coordinated operations across Delta and Edo States.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, disclosed the arrests during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Asaba. He noted that the native doctors were believed to be spiritually fortifying criminals, while the kidnappers were linked to several abductions along the Ughelli–Patani and Sapele–Warri axis.
The 184 internet fraud suspects were apprehended in various hotels and apartments in Warri, Asaba, and Benin City during sting operations carried out with support from tactical units and intelligence reports.
Exhibits recovered included several laptops, sophisticated phones, charms, identity cards, SIM cards, and documents related to financial crimes.
CP Abaniwonda assured residents that the command remains committed to dismantling all criminal networks in the region and urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperative.
