A trending drama has hit the streets as a young Nwaboi (apprentice) was caught red-handed after he allegedly stole a huge sum of money from his Oga (master) to buy four smartphones — yes, four! — for his girlfriend.
According to eyewitnesses in the market, the young man who had only been under apprenticeship for a short while decided to “show love” in a reckless way by using his boss’s money to secure the phones in a grand romantic gesture. Unfortunately for him, love didn’t cover his tracks.
The boss reportedly discovered the missing funds and traced the transaction back to the apprentice, who had not only bought the phones but was also allegedly planning a surprise birthday party for the lady.
The incident has sparked outrage and laughter across social media with many shouting “Inukwa!” — a strong Igbo expression of shock and disbelief. Others are using the case as a warning to traders who blindly trust apprentices without close supervision.
One trader angrily said:
> “This is why we dey monitor them like hawk! Today na phones, tomorrow e fit be full shop!”
Meanwhile, the girlfriend is reportedly nowhere to be found since the boy was exposed.
Lesson of the Day: Before you shout "Love nwantinti", make sure it's not with another person’s money! 😂
