Akpabio: Natasha arrives court for arraignment over alleged defamation

On Monday morning, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the lawmaker from Kogi Central Senatorial District, appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja for a second arraignment over alleged defamation of Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Senator Natasha was joined by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, activist Aisha Yesufu, and their supporters.

Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court is set to oversee the case on Monday.

reports indicating that the lawmaker faced arraignment on a comparable charge at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on June 19, 2025.

At the most recent hearing, the judge denied the federal government's request to have Senator Natasha arrested for not appearing at her trial.
