Ladipo Johnson, a leader within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), stated that there is no issue with President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) considering offering Rabiu Kwankwaso, NNPP's 2023 presidential candidate, the Vice Presidential position for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Johnson, appearing as a guest on Channels Television's 'The Morning Brief' program on Monday, stated that the comment is not insulting.
He said, "Offering him the vice president slot isn't insulting; whether he accepts it or not is another matter."
He said that members of the APC have contacted him about a potential alliance between the Kano political leader and the president.
Johnson stated, "I've been with Senator Kwankwaso since 2013 or 2014. It's always about the beliefs of the moment and whether those you're involved with will support you in making those things happen."
Indeed, there are currently rumors circulating, but there's a possibility here. After the 2023 elections, we expressed our openness to discussions with anyone interested in progressing together.
Individuals from the APC have reached out to me, saying: "If he receives an offer, please urge him to accept." However, within the party context, it's a collaborative effort.
