‎CBN cracks down on PoS failures

‎No more “network issues” excuses.
‎The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has given PoS terminal providers ONE MONTH to fix transaction disruptions by upgrading their systems.
‎Here’s what’s changing 👇
‎🔹 Dual connectivity is now mandatory
‎All PoS operators, processors and terminal providers must connect their systems to BOTH
‎➡️ NIBSS and
‎➡️ UPSL
‎🔹 Automatic backup required
‎If one platform goes down, transactions must switch instantly to the other — no failed payments, no downtime.
‎🔹 Regular stress tests
‎CBN has ordered periodic testing of the systems to ensure backups actually work when needed.
‎🔹 24-hour incident reporting
‎Any downtime must be reported to the CBN within 24 hours, explaining what happened and how it was fixed.
‎⏰ Deadline:
‎All financial institutions and PoS providers must comply within one month from December 11, 2025.
‎Bottom line?
‎CBN wants faster, more reliable PoS transactions — and less frustration for Nigerians 💳⚡
‎What do you think — will this finally end PoS wahala? 👇
