FCT Minister Nyesom Wike asserts that those who question the origins of his wealth are not well-informed about his background and has justified his use of a Rolls-Royce.
During Thursday's episode of Channels Television’s "Politics Today," Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State, raised questions about Wike's source of wealth, particularly after he was seen with the luxury car.
Nonetheless, the day after, Wike mentioned that he was born into a comfortable family prior to assuming political leadership.
"I own a Rolls-Royce, but why does that matter? I earned it myself; no one handed it to me. Before harmattan comes the cold season. Unlike Rotimi Amaechi, my background is different," stated the FCT minister on Friday's episode of the show.
"When I was a student, I drove a Mercedes-Benz because my father held the position of general manager at several companies. Although we were well-off, we weren't as wealthy as the Dangotes."
