Super Eagles Coach Finidi Unveils 35-Man Provisional Squad for CHAN 2025

Eric Chelle, the head coach of Nigeria's national football team, has announced a 35-man provisional roster for the Super Eagles B squad in preparation for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025. The tournament is set to be held in August across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Included in the lineup are team captain Junior Nduka and Papa Daniel Mustapha, two seasoned players anticipated to play crucial roles in Nigeria’s campaign.

The CHAN tournament is exclusively for footballers competing in their nation's domestic leagues.

Ademola Olajire, the Director of Communications at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirmed the squad list in a statement released on Friday.

At the forefront of the attack is forward Anas Yusuf, joined by a group of exceptional talents from the Nigeria Premier Football League.

First-choice goalkeeper Henry Ani is included, along with defenders Waliu Ojetoye, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Kabiru Mohammed, and Uzondu Harrison.

Midfielders Haddi Haruna and Saviour Isaac, along with forwards Sunday Megwo, Adamu Abubakar, and Godwin Obaje, have also been included in the list.

Included in the lineup were goalkeepers Kayode Bankole and Ebenezer Harcourt, as well as defenders Sodiq Ismaila and Stephen Manyo Egbe.

The midfield will include Adam Aminu, with Atule Joseph and Temitope Vincent chosen as part of the forward lineup.

Nigeria, the runners-up in the 2018 edition, have been placed into Group D of the 19-team competition. They will compete against defending champions Senegal as well as Sudan and Congo.

The matches against Senegal and Sudan are scheduled to take place at Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, whereas the final group game against Congo will be held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

“All the invited players are required to report to camp at Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun, on Monday,” stated Olajire.

He also mentioned that players must bring their international passports and valid club licenses.
