Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a celebrated Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, has died at 94.
According to a family source, the elder statesman passed away in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday night following a short illness.
He passed away around 3 am Nigerian time at a hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, born on May 19, 1931 in Kano, was a prominent figure in Nigeria's business scene for many decades.
He was a highly regarded industrialist and instrumental in the expansion of the nation's private sector.
He leaves behind seven children and numerous grandchildren, including Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata.
