In Ondo State, tension is brewing in the APC after the seven-member National Assembly Primary Election Committee failed to announce the results of last Saturday’s House of Representatives primaries.
Party sources said disagreements among committee members stalled the process.
The panel, led by Iboroma Harry Dabibi, is said to be under pressure to declare certain aspirants winners, including some earlier disqualified by the party.
A source, who spoke in confidence, explained that the crisis forced the committee’s secretary, Adamu Mohammed Shamaki, and two other members to return to Abuja.
The chairman and remaining members stayed in Akure but could not proceed with announcing results.
The source said: “The secretary protested that the panel does not have the power to announce consensus candidates as desired by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
“He insisted the panel should collate findings and submit a report to the National Working Committee.”
The secretary’s whereabouts were initially unclear, but a party leader said he had returned to Abuja to brief the APC NWC.
7 aspirants disqualified
Seven aspirants were disqualified from the race.
They included Adefisoye Tajudeen (Idanre/Ifedore), Olusegun Ategbole (Akoko South West/Akoko South East), Seun Ajongbolo (Akoko South East/Akoko South West), Ayodele Arowole (Owo/Ose), Murufu Ibrahim (Akoko North East/Akoko North West), Oseni Oyeniyi (Akoko North East/Akoko North West), and Olaleye Adedipe (Akoko North East/Akoko North West).
Three of them, Adefisoye, Ategbole, and Arowole, were reportedly among Governor Aiyedatiwa’s consensus candidates and still participated in the primaries.
A party source alleged that political actors acting on the governor’s instruction pressured the committee to declare nine consensus aspirants as winners.
“They attempted to announce three aspirants as winners in their constituencies, including Abiola Makinde (Ondo West/Ondo East), Wunmi Edet (Akure South/Akure North), and Muyiwa Daramola (Okitipupa/Irele).

I have waited until this time to post this on my timeline. This is the full report of the Screening Committee that screened us. We were screened by Panel A at Treasure Suites, and these are the full reports of the Committee.
I had this report even before the Primaries election, and I was surprised when Felix Morka had to post my name among those who were not cleared on the day of the election.
Well, I know the “not cleared” issue came as a result of some people who had to pay their way—or let me say, paid some NWC members—to come up with issues on Election Day.
But I know politics is a game, and anything is fair in the game. It is all part of the game. However, if you are popular on the ground, I don’t see why you have to pay your way out just to come up with something like this on Election Day.
Governor Ayedatiwa also had the opportunity to disqualify or “unclear” many MHA aspirants because the screening was done in Akure. But the man chose to give everybody the opportunity to go to the field and prove their popularity. That is why the Akoko Northwest MHA candidate won on the field, the Ikare MHA candidate won on the field, and even Rotimi Canada of Ile-Oluji won on the field. They were subsequently declared winners.
That, to me, is a fair way to play the game. But I understand the game very well. Whatever you need to do, just do it. ✅

Politics is a marathon race, and it is a game that I love.
If a man like myself, who has not held any appointment and has not been in the system for three years, can still give some people so much headache to the extent that they allegedly had to spend billions just to get me declared “uncleared,” then it means we are doing something right.

Under Section 6.0 Committee Recommendations:
During the screening exercise, the Committee screened and cleared a total of three hundred and thirty five (335) Aspirants.
Details as follows: Edo - 34, Enugu - 16, Ekiti - 34, Lagos - 90, Ogun - 39, Ondo - 57, Rivers - 24, Jigawa - 16, Zamfara - 29.

Having gone through all their documents and interviewed them, the committee was satisfied that they have met all the necessary requirements needed to stand for the forthcoming All Progressives Congress primaries. In view of that, the committee cleared them.
The report was signed on 11th - 14th May 2026 by the Committee Chairman H.E. Mukhtari Shehu Shagari and 11 other members including Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, Hon Boniface Raphael, Hon. Amos Gombi Goyol etc.
The document directly contradicts any claim of disqualification. It shows Hon. Adefisoye met all requirements, was interviewed, and was recommended to contest the APC House of Representatives primary for Idanre/Ifedore.
