“I refuse to stay silent” – Bolanle Ninalowo reacts to Jos massacre amid appointment with Tinubu

Bolanle Ninalowo, a Nollywood actor, has spoken out about the recent deaths in Jos, expressing great grief over the tragic incident following Tinubu's recent appointment.

On Palm Sunday, suspected gunmen reportedly attacked a neighbourhood in Angwa Rukuba, killing numerous individuals.

Taking to Instagram, the actor declared that he prefers to be a voice for the people rather than the government, and that he could not keep silent.

“I choose to be a voice for the people, not for any government. The tragic events in Jos, Nigeria, broke my heart. I may have made a misaligned call in the past, thoughts made in a moment with good intentions, but I cannot stay silent when I realise I may have overlooked my core values,” he wrote.

Bolanle went on to say that his attitude is not political, but rather humanitarian, and that he cannot see Nigerians suffer without speaking out.

“My hope is for change, not for political support. I cannot stand by and watch people suffer for any reason. Nigerians bleed, and I will not be ignorant of that reality. May God bring the change we all desire to make Nigeria a better place,” he added.

In a follow-up statement, actor Kunle Remi expressed fury and grief, describing the viral video as his genuine birthday wish to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and hope it reaches him.
