“What God Told Me About a Nigerian Politician Called Iyabo Obasanjo - Primate Elijah Ayodele Reveals

The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned Iyabo Obasanjo over her alleged governorship ambition, advising her to reconsider the political move.

Ayodele stated that contesting for a governorship position may not yield the desired result for Obasanjo, warning that such a political pursuit could amount to a waste of resources.

Speaking during a recent address, the cleric questioned the wisdom of investing heavily in a governorship race, insisting that the political environment may not favour her.

According to Ayodele, “Iyabo Obasanjo, why can’t you keep your money instead of wasting the money for governorship? Maybe you are just gambling. You are gambling. It’s waste. You can’t even win your world.”

The cleric said political contests require careful calculation and favourable circumstances, stressing that not every ambition necessarily translates into electoral victory.

Ayodele advised the former senator to carefully evaluate the political terrain before committing financial and political resources to such a major contest.

While he did not provide detailed reasons for his warning, the cleric maintained that some political aspirations often end in disappointment when proper political realities are not taken into consideration.

He added that many politicians underestimate the complexity of governorship races, especially in states where party structures, alliances and grassroots support play crucial roles in determining electoral outcomes.

Ayodele noted that political ambition alone is not enough to secure victory, emphasizing that several factors including public perception, party support and strategic alliances often determine the success of candidates.

The cleric urged politicians across the country to approach elections with careful planning rather than emotional or impulsive decisions.

According to him, political leaders should also focus on contributing to national development in various ways instead of pursuing positions that may not be politically attainable.

Observers say Ayodele has often made public comments and predictions concerning political developments in Nigeria, particularly ahead of major elections.

As discussions surrounding future political contests continue to emerge across different states, the cleric’s remarks add to ongoing conversations about the strategies and ambitions of prominent political figures in the country.
