The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has claimed that the Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence of Nigeria, is facing strong disapproval from some political interests in Northern Nigeria.
Ayodele made the remark while addressing journalists on the current political climate in the country and the challenges facing the nation’s security leadership.
According to the cleric, despite efforts by the Defence Minister to address security concerns, certain political figures and stakeholders in the northern region are not satisfied with his leadership.
“Minister of Defense, they hate you. No matter what you are doing, the northerners doesn’t like you,” Ayodele said.
The prophet explained that the minister may continue to face criticism and resistance regardless of his policy decisions or strategies aimed at tackling insecurity.
Ayodele advised the Defence Minister to remain focused on his responsibilities and not be discouraged by political opposition or public criticism.
He stressed that leadership positions, particularly those related to national security, often attract intense scrutiny and political rivalry.
Nigeria has continued to battle several security challenges in different parts of the country, including insurgency in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, and communal conflicts in parts of the Middle Belt.
