The U.S. Army is weeks away from fielding its first operational Dark Eagle hypersonic battery, delivering a ground-launched weapon that can hammer targets more than 3,500 kilometers away in under 20 minutes.
After years of delays and over $12 billion spent, the Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon—now officially called Dark Eagle—is finally reaching troops. Lt. Gen. Frank Lozano confirmed the Army is close to fully equipping the initial battery, with integration, safety checks, and readiness wrapping up soon.
