Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani says Ghana president John Mahama has done what many African leaders failed to do since the establishment of the United Nations.
Sani said this in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday, stressing that the spirit of Nkrumah and other Panafrican legends has been rekindled.
According to him, Panafrican legends always want the continent to remember the horrors and holocaust of the Second World War and not that of slavery.
The former lawmaker added that the dementia of history has been corrected with the UN categorisation of slavery as the gravest crime against humanity.
“Ghana’s president did what many African leaders failed to do. Those who voted against the resolution have the skeletons of slavery in their cupboards.
“Slavery is the major factor why the black race is racially, wrongly, unacceptably and disgustingly categorised as the inferior race,” he said.
Recall that Mahama, while speaking in New York on Tuesday, criticized the US administration for what he described as normalizing the erasure of Black history, warning that such policies could have ripple effects elsewhere.
