Publisher of Ovation Magazine and politician, Dele Momodu, has sparked widespread reactions after launching a scathing attack on former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.
In a strongly worded statement, Momodu criticised Fani-Kayode’s conduct and public utterances, questioning when he would abandon what he described as a confrontational approach to politics.
“When will you stop being a thug?” Momodu asked, in remarks that have since gone viral across social media platforms.
Momodu also referenced Fani-Kayode’s late father, Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode, noting that he knew him personally and contrasting his legacy with what he described as the controversial disposition of his son.
The veteran journalist further accused Fani-Kayode of failing to live up to expectations despite having access to elite education, including studies at prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge.
He also expressed concern over Fani-Kayode’s reported nomination for a diplomatic role, suggesting that his temperament raises questions about his suitability for such an assignment.
Momodu revealed that Fani-Kayode had previously discussed political ambitions and possible alliances, including outreach to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, during periods of uncertainty.
The comments come amid an ongoing war of words between both political figures, with Fani-Kayode having earlier criticised Momodu over his views on the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
