The Edo State Police Command has announced the commencement of the Physical and Credentials Screening Exercise for applicants seeking recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force, currently taking place at the Police Training School, Ogida, Benin City.
In a statement issued on March 10, 2026, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Command, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said the exercise began on Sunday, March 9, 2026, and has so far been peaceful, orderly, and hitch-free.
According to the command, the screening is being conducted in a transparent manner, with senior police officers and officials of the Police Service Commission (PSC) present at the venue to oversee and monitor the process in line with established recruitment guidelines.
The command also advised applicants who successfully completed their online applications and have the word “QUALIFIED” on their submission slips but cannot locate their invitation letters to forward a copy of their submission slip to [email protected] for necessary assistance.
Applicants attending the screening are required to present the following documents: invitation slip with assigned table, credential and physical screening form, original National Identity Number (NIN) slip or NIMC card, O’ Level certificate (GCE/SSCE), birth certificate or declaration of age, and a local government or state of origin certificate. Specialist applicants must also present their trade test certificates.
In addition, candidates are expected to submit a duly completed and signed guarantor’s form with attached photocopies and passport photographs of their referees.
The command further directed candidates to appear at the screening venue with both original and duplicate copies of their credentials arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
Applicants are also required to attend the exercise dressed in white T-shirts, white shorts, white canvas shoes, and white stockings.
The Edo State Police Command assured the public that the recruitment exercise will continue in a fair, transparent, and merit-based manner. It also urged applicants to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion and strictly follow the instructions of officials at the screening centre.
The command reiterated that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and warned applicants to be cautious of individuals attempting to extort money from them under the guise of offering assistance.
