Nurse earning Ghc350 back home makes it big after relocating abroad, urges others to travel

A young Nigerian nurse has shared her experience of working under demanding conditions in Nigeria, comparing it with her current situation, which she says offers better balance and improved pay.

In a post, she described working “21 days a month, 4–5 days a week” in her previous role, noting that the workload affected her wellbeing.

She added that the pressure led to visible stress-related effects and relatively low earnings, stating her take-home pay after tax was about 45,000 naira which is approximately Ghc350

She contrasted that with her current arrangement, where she works fewer days each month and has a more manageable schedule.

According to her, she now works about 12 days a month, spread across three days a week, and says her working conditions and income have improved.

“Now I work 12 days a month… and I have a good work-life balance,” she wrote, expressing satisfaction with the change.
