The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has unveiled a comprehensive compliance guide for drone operations in Nigeria, warning that violators risk heavy fines, imprisonment, or seizure of equipment.
Developed in collaboration with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and other security agencies, the new guidelines outline strict procedures for operating unmanned aerial vehicles within Nigerian airspace.
According to the NCAA, no drone flights are permitted without prior approval, emphasizing tighter control over aerial activities for safety and security.
A major requirement includes obtaining security clearance from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), alongside an End User Certificate for each drone.
