The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that it will pay 12 months’ salary to the families of personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.
According to the Air Force, the initiative is aimed at supporting bereaved families and easing the financial burden faced by loved ones of fallen officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation.
The decision reflects ongoing efforts by the military to improve the welfare of its personnel and provide meaningful assistance to the families of those who die while protecting Nigeria.
Officials say the policy is part of broader measures to ensure that fallen heroes are honoured and their families receive the support they deserve.
The development has been welcomed by many as a step toward strengthening morale within the armed forces and recognising the sacrifices made by military personnel in the fight against insecurity.
