According to a report by The Sun, on Wednesday March 18, 2026, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has clarified that his political disagreement is not with President Bola Tinubu but with the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola.
Adeleke made this known while addressing members of his cabinet and other top government officials at the Government House in Osogbo and explained that the ongoing local government crisis in the state should not be linked to the president, according to him, the issue is strictly between his administration and Oyetola.
The governor restated his support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027 and described the president as a leader of the South-West and said his endorsement remains firm despite political tensions within the state and added that backing Tinubu is in the best interest of the region.
Speaking further, the governor thanked the people of Osun for their growing support since his political movement gained strength, he noted that party activities across the state have continued to attract large participation, especially at the grassroots level and encouraged party members and government officials to build on this momentum by expanding membership and mobilising voters in all parts of the state.
“My dispute is with Oyetola. We have no problem with President Tinubu. I restate our endorsement of Mr President for re‑election in the best interest of the South West,” he said.
