‎In a recent statement via his official X account, Demola Olarewaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that political considerations are taking priority over governance and national security.

‎"The moment you understand that everything about Bola Tinubu is political, you’ll see why his Govt has failed: They’re positioning someone as Plan B running mate, telling him to use his initials on his cap to build on public following and we’re here expecting insecurity to end," he wrote.

‎In his post, Olarewaju said that many of the president’s decisions appear to be driven by political strategy rather than urgent national needs, according to him, this approach may explain what he described as the government’s failure to effectively address key challenges, including insecurity.

‎He argued that there are signs of early political positioning within the administration, particularly ahead of the 2027 elections and claimed that certain individuals are being strategically promoted to build public recognition, possibly as part of future electoral plans.

‎According to Olarewaju, this kind of political calculation distracts from pressing issues facing the country, he said Nigerians are more concerned about security, economic stability, and governance, rather than internal political arrangements within the ruling circle.

‎He questioned the priorities of government officials, referencing criticism that key security figures were engaged in official trips abroad while serious security concerns persist at home and suggested that leadership attention should be focused on addressing violence and instability in affected regions.

‎Olarewaju maintained that effective governance requires clear focus and urgency, especially in times of national difficulty and argued that any perception of divided attention could weaken public confidence in the administration.

‎He further stated that insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges in Nigeria, he said citizens expect strong leadership and immediate action to tackle threats to lives and property across the country.
