I Want To Tell The World, EL-Rufai Is President Bola Tinubu's Political Prisoner, End Of Story - Yusuf

Former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Usman Yusuf, has ignited debate with his strong comments regarding the detention of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Speaking in a television interview aired by SYMFONI TV, Yusuf argued that El-Rufai’s situation is less about legal accountability and more about political rivalry.

Yusuf pointed out that El-Rufai played a key role in supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise to power, but their political relationship later deteriorated.

He suggested that this falling out may have contributed to the ex-governor’s current troubles, implying that the charges brought against him are politically motivated rather than genuinely criminal.

Describing the allegations as weak and unconvincing, Yusuf said that many legal experts also view the case as lacking sufficient evidence.

He emphasized that such scenarios reflect a broader pattern where individuals who oppose those in power can be subjected to legal pressures, often with little basis in law.

According to him, this creates an environment where political disagreements are increasingly being settled through judicial action rather than debate or democratic process.

In addition, Yusuf expressed concern over how security agencies are perceived in handling politically sensitive cases.
