I can’t apologise to anyone, my covenant was with Benue People, nobody can stop me - Governor Alia


Benue State's Governor Hyacinth Alia announced that he will not say sorry to anyone regarding his actions in office, asserting that no person or group has the power to prevent him from executing his plans for the state.

The governor shared this message while discussing his dedication to development, emphasizing that his main goal is to enhance the lives of the residents and honor the commitments he made upon taking office. He stated that his aim is to transform the state’s situation for the better.

He mentioned that his choices are driven by the desire to foster development and ensure the state progresses. 

The governor made his remarks during a Ramadan Iftar event attended by Muslims at the Government House in Makurdi, where he took the opportunity to showcase some successes achieved by his administration thus far.

He highlighted ongoing initiatives in road construction and advancements in the civil service as indicators of progress, explaining that development becomes apparent when roads are fixed and employees perform their tasks happily.

Governor Alia urged citizens and stakeholders to lend their support to his initiatives, calling on those with good intentions to collaborate with him to create a brighter future for the state.

He emphasized that his dedication lies with the populace and he remains steadfast in finishing what he commenced, despite any challenges he may face.

“I will not apologize to anyone. My agreement is with the people of Benue State. Thus, no one can halt my efforts,” the governor declared.
