This was done by my trusted car washer. I always park the car and give him the car key to do his thing and keep my key for me until when I come back to carry my car. I didn’t even know how I got to start trusting him like that.
on that faithful day I parked my car as usual for him to wash and left. When I came back I couldn’t find my car and I couldn’t find the guy. I asked other car washers around there and I was told the guy went out with my car and had a serious accident. They told me where the accident happened and I rushed there only to find out that this guy had destroyed someone’s Keke and seriously injured the Keke driver. He also drove into where interlocking tiles are being sold and destroyed some of them. I just got there and I was dumbfounded.
I had to settle the Keke Man first who said he can take himself to the hospital. I paid him for treatments and also paid for repair works on his damaged Keke. The man selling the interlocking tiles was an elderly man and after calculating the damages done to his goods which was about 562k, he asked me to bring 150k after all the begging which I paid. I called a toying van to just take my car straight to the mechanic then I followed the car washer to search his house. All we could get was 6k. He uses a Nokia torch and claimed he has no money other than the 6k. I had to bear the loss alone because I needed my car fixed ASAP.
Wetin pain me pass na on investigation, I found out this guy was going to carry woman with my car when the accident happened and they were three.
Pls no matter how you trust your car washer, just open your car for him to wash and take your key so you won’t learn the hard way just like me.
This happened few years ago but i believe people need to learn from it.
