The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an urgent travel advisory urging Ghanaian Muslims who have not yet departed for Umrah to put their pilgrimage plans on hold until the security situation in the Middle East stabilises.
This comes as Iranian missile and drone strikes continue to h!t several Gulf states, disrupting air travel across the entire region.
Currently, major transit hubs, including Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, which most Ghanaian pilgrims pass through, have been severely affected by airspace closures.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has urged Ghanaians already inside Saudi Arabia to remain calm and follow all directives from local authorities and maintain contact with the Ghana Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah.
The Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah remain open and operational for those already in the Kingdom.
