The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has publicly apologised following intense backlash over a viral video in which he sought a wife for an autistic man under his care.
The video, which was shared on the cleric’s Facebook page on Friday, sparked widespread reactions online, with many viewers criticising the proposal as inappropriate and demeaning to women.
The controversial post reportedly offered financial incentives, including accommodation, salary, and other benefits, to any woman willing to marry the man.
Following the public outcry, Apostle Chinyere issued a direct apology on Saturday, stating:
“I want to apologise to all the ladies who watched the video. I can never degrade any woman… if my comments were seen as degrading, I apologise openly. I am very, very sorry.”
The apology has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with some commending him for taking responsibility, while others continue to debate the original post.
