The Hisbah Board in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina, under the leadership of Mallam Shafi'u Ibrahim, has arrested a 35-year-old Christian man and a 26-year-old Muslim lady in Dutsinma.
According to reports, they were living as lovers in the same room yet unmarried, behind old motor park area. Sources indicated that the woman was not forced into the relationship, but willingly and gently agreed to be with him.
The Hisbah authorities stated that they consider such conduct immoral, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and therefore took action.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the appropriate legal steps to be taken.
