If your prepaid credit has been vanishing faster than usual, you’re not alone.
A lot of Ghanaians have been raising the same concern, and it has finally caught the attention of the authorities.
The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition says it has taken note of the widespread complaints about prepaid electricity units running out unusually quickly.
Many customers across the country have been asking questions, and now the issue is officially under review.
According to the Ministry’s spokesperson, Richmond Rockson, the sector Minister, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has stepped in.
He has directed the Electricity Company of Ghana to investigate what’s going on and submit a report within seven days.
In his words, the Minister has instructed ECG to look into the matter and present findings within a week to guide the next steps.
So for now, all eyes are on ECG. If you’ve been wondering why your credit seems to be disappearing faster than normal, a response may be coming soon.
