Clergywoman Sunmbo Adeoye has opened up about the struggles she faced after marrying Pastor David Adeoye.
She said she refused to let one chapter of her life define her future and chose instead to see purpose in her experiences.
She also spoke about meeting her husband, Pastor David Adeoye. According to her, she did not feel the need to defend herself or explain her past to people.
She said their marriage was not built on pity or public opinion but on what she believes was God’s plan. She described her husband as a blessing arranged by God and said grace has kept their union strong despite public talk.
Sunmbo admitted that criticism came from different directions, including family, friends, and members of the church. She revealed that some worshippers eventually left the church because of her history. She said it was painful to watch people walk away and that it affected her deeply at the time.
Despite the backlash, she said her faith and marriage kept her stable.
She said: “People left the church over my history with my ex and it hurt. That season taught me that God has a plan for everyone, but I saw that I chose not to equate a bad decision with a bad life. When you understand purpose, your pain will have a meaning.
“Just resist the news to shalaye. My husband was not on a rescue mission, and I wasn’t trying to prove a point. My husband was my divine compensation, orchestrated by God. It is the grace of God that allows it to outlast the gossip.
“If you ask me, Sunmbo, what precisely did you do, I surrender. I threw away the Google Map and said, ‘God, just navigate my journey the way you want it to be.’
