The National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the APC, Victor Giadom, has said that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, cannot win any election in the state without the support of Nyesom Wike.
Giadom said Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, remains the most powerful political figure in Gokana and across Rivers politics.
According to him, the people of Gokana are firmly loyal to Wike and President Bola Tinubu, adding that no politician can succeed in the area without Wike’s backing.
He described Gokana as a “no-go area” for any politician who does not have Wike’s support, including Governor Fubara.
Also speaking, former Senator Magnus Abe said there is no need for President Tinubu to campaign in Gokana because the people already support him and Wike.
These comments come amid rising political tension between Wike and Fubara over who controls the political structure in Rivers State.
Earlier, Wike dismissed Fubara’s claim of leading the APC in Rivers and warned that sudden loyalty to President Tinubu does not guarantee a party ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.
