Minister Nyesom Wike has warned Senator Ajibola Basiru to stay out of Rivers State politics. Speaking to supporters in Oyigbo, Wike said anyone trying to interfere would face serious consequences.
He told Basiru not to take Rivers leaders’ support for President Bola Tinubu for granted. “Be careful with what you say,” Wike said, adding, “This state is a no-go area. Anyone who crosses the line, don’t blame me if your hand burns.”
Wike also urged politicians to stop making noise about Rivers politics and focus on their own states.
Senator Basiru had earlier expressed support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, but Wike’s warning makes it clear: Rivers politics is strictly off-limits to outsiders.
